The American Music Awards are as smitten with American Idol as everyone else. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Daughtry have been added to the schedule of performers for the 37th annual awards, airing live Nov. 22 on ABC. They join fellow Idol alum Adam Lambert, who was announced earlier as a performer.

"American Idol continually produces great talent, and we are looking forward to hosting Kelly, Carrie, Daughtry and Adam. It's a great fit for the AMAs," said producer Larry Klein.

Mike Fisher on Dating Carrie Underwood: "It's Been Good!"

What's it like dating an American Idol?

Canadian hockey star Mike Fisher says he and girlfriend Carrie Underwood "always find a way to make it work" despite their hectic schedules in a video interview with NHL Online.

"It's been good!" Fisher, 29, says. The Ottawa Senators player and the country star, 26, "met at a concert in Toronto about a year ago, in October," through a "friend of a friend," he explains.

His favorite song from Underwood's catalog? A track from her new album Play On (out Nov. 3) called "Temporary Home." "I like it when she sings a good rock song."

The results are less successful when the athlete takes the mike. "I try to sing some of her songs, [and] she just laughs!" he jokes. When pressed to choose an Underwood song he'd sing for her, he quips, "'Before He Cheats,' maybe!"

But Fisher has high praise for his girlfriend's work ethic -- and her talent. "She doesn't get too many days off -- a lot less days off than I get," he notes. "She's always going. She's talented and she's getting rewarded for it. That's good to see."

Three Tiger Girls were chosen to be dancers in the new Carrie Underwood music video for the song “Cowboy Casanova,” which topped Country Music Television’s “Top 20 Countdown” for Oct. 16.

Lauren Hammond, biology senior, Heidi Hankin, kinesiology senior, and Katherine Frederickson, chemical engineering freshman, auditioned for a music video at a casting call in New Orleans but didn’t know the identity of the artist. The only information they were told was the artist was a multi-platinum award-winning female artist.

“My studio dance teacher told me about the auditions, so I sent in a tape,” Frederickson said. Hammond and Hankin participated in the live auditions on a Thursday. They were told nothing until late Sunday night.

“All three of us pretty much spent the entire weekend together just waiting for a response,” Hammond said. “We all received the e-mail Sunday night, and that’s when we found out the music video was going to be for Carrie Underwood.”

Things moved quickly after the e-mail. The three Tiger Girls, along with two other women, rehearsed the dances with the choreographer the following week at a hotel ballroom in New Orleans. Underwood practiced with the women on the second day.

Filming of the video in New Orleans took two days. The women said the days were long, not finishing until the early hours of the morning.

The Tiger Girls said Underwood was shy in person but comfortable in front of the camera.

“She was so tiny and short,” Hammond says. “It was amazing to see such a small person with such an amazingly strong singing voice.”

Hankin said the dancers’ experience helped them deal with the demanding schedule.

“Sometimes during the tapings the choreographer would decide to change part of the dance, show us one time and expect us to be able to do it,” Hankin said. “We have to learn gameday dances fast so our experience with LSU Tiger Girls helped a lot.”

Underwood joked about the Tiger Girls’ dance skills and said they were about a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, while she herself was about a 1.5.

Earlier last month, at the taping of Carrie Underwood’s CMT Invitation Only special, Carrie Underwood told fans the story behind her newly released song, Temporary Home. While the song has only been released for less than twenty-four hours, it’s already making a major impact on both the country music and Christian community. In the sit down interview, Carrie Underwood explained that she was inspired to write the song Temporary Home after reading through the book The Purpose Driven Life.

The Purpose Driven Life, written by Rick Warren, the founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, is not a self help book, but a book to help people understand God’s plan for them and why they are here on earth. Before writing The Purpose Driven Life, Warren also wrote the book The Purpose Driven Church. The Purpose Driven Church was selected as one of the 100 Christian Books That Changed the 20th Century and was awarded the Gold Medallion. In his second hit novel, The Purpose Driven Life, readers are guided through a forty day spiritual journey to help answer the question of “What on earth am I here for?” On Day Six of the books 40 day journey, the topic is “Life is a Temporary Assignment”. It seems as if this section was the inspiration for much of Carrie Underwood’s soon to be hit song.

Underwood explained that she read through the book with a close friend (fans believe the close friend to be Underwood’s boyfriend, Ottawa Senators, Mike Fisher). She said that she was inspired to write a song based on some of the concepts in the book, but had trouble putting the ideas together. Then, while getting ready in the morning and doing basic morning routines such as taking a shower and doing her hair, she came up with the three stories that shaped the entire song. A story about a little boy living in foster care, followed by a single mother in a halfway house. The last concept for the story was a dying man in a hospital bed, surrounded by his family. When Carrie Underwood started her writing session with Luke Laird and Zac Maloy, Laird said that she already had the entire concept of the song completed before they even started. In an interview discussing the writing of the song, Luke Laird (who also wrote on Carrie’s hit singles Last Name and So Small), stated that Carrie was very connected to the song. “This song was very emotional for Carrie. If you heard our work tape, you’d know she was really into it.”

Carrie Underwood eligible for 2010 People's Choice Awards nomination

Fans have the chance to vote in the first round of the People’s Choice Awards. Since the awards cover music, movies and television, there isn’t much room for country music categories. However, there is a ‘Favorite Country Artist’ category. At this time, they are taking votes from twelve semifinalists to determine who will make up the final list of nominated artists. From the twelve, the five highest artists will earn a place as a nominees at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards. Voters will then have the chance to vote again in the top five to determine the winner.

In the Favorite Country Artist category, four female country artists are eligble[sic] for the award. Fans can choose between Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert. Sugarland and Lady Antebellum are also eligible for the same award. Male artists that are eligible to be nominated include: Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts. Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are both listed in the Favorite Female Artist category.

Country star Carrie Underwood is returning to Fox, the network that catapulted her to stardom with "American idol," to headline a variety special executive produced by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller.

Adam Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe are on board to direct and executive produce the two-hour show, tentatively titled "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special," which will air Dec. 7.

Underwood will perform previous hits, holiday classics and songs from her upcoming album and participate in comedy bits.

Musical guests signed so far to join her on stage include Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley -- her co-host at the 2008 and the upcoming 2009 CMA Awards -- and David Cook, last year's "Idol" winner.

"Seinfeld" alumna Carol Leifer, former "Frasier" exec producer Jeffrey Richman and actor/writer Seth Morris are penning sketches for the special. It is is being produced by Big Red 2 Entertainment, the joint venture between Lythgoe and Fuller named after the red-colored jerseys of the Brits' favorite soccer teams, Manchester United (Fuller) and Liverpool (Lythgoe).

The two formed the company following Lythgoe's departure from "Idol" last year after seven seasons at the helm of the top reality series.

Lythgoe is co-creator/exec producer/judge on "So You think You Can Dance," from Fuller's 19 Entertainment, on which Shankman also serves as a judge. Shankman's directing credits include "Bedtime Stories" and "Hairspray."

Underwood, the fourth season "Idol" winner, is the most successful recording artist to emerge from the competition series, with sales of more than 10 million albums in the U.S. and four Grammy Awards.

Her next album, "Play On," produced by Mark Bright, will be released Nov. 3 on 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville.

The Underwood special has been billed as a one-off, though the broadcast networks have been looking for ways to revive the variety series genre, so far unsuccessfully with Rosie O'Donnell (NBC) and the Osbournes (Fox).

Carrie Underwood Plays the Stylistic Field With “Casanova”

Carrie Underwood is country music’s reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, and she gother big break on the pop TV show “American Idol.” But her latest singlegives her a bit of a relationship to rap music.

Carrie co-wrote “Cowboy Casanova” with “Jesus, Take The Wheel”author Brett James and Mike Elizondo, whose resume includes work as amusician and/or songwriter for such acts as Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 Centand Snoop Dogg. On the surface, it sounds like a weird mix, and thatapparently worked in the three writers’ favor, since they felt nopressure.

“We basically didn’t take ourselves too seriously and wrote this song,” Carrie says. “Then it was like, ‘Holy cow!’ Like, ‘What is this? What did we do? This is awesome!’”

That’s the same reaction country fans have had. “Casanova,” with its punchy, big sound, shot into the Top 15 of Billboard’s country chart in a scant three weeks.

“This is bigger than any of us could have even imagined,” she says.“Everything about this song is so much fun, and it’s so strong andfemale-empowering, very anthemic — just a lot of fun. And, you know, Igot a little sassy streak, and I like songs that get to showcase that.”

Carrie will also be showcased on this year’s Country Music Association Awards. She co-hosts the 43rd annual event with Brad Paisley on Nov. 11, eight days after the release of her third album, Play On.

Roman White's childhood sounds like something out of a country singer's bio. He grew up spending time on his grandparent's farm and listening to the Grand Ole Opry on their big radio. "It was part of my Nashville upbringing, and it rooted something deep down inside me," White told me. But that kind of raising doesn't always mean you're going to make music. For White, it meant making music come to life as a director. The latest example is Taylor Swift's new video, "Fifteen."

So how did he get from the farm to having all kinds of county music video awards under his belt? "I always had a big imagination. I'm passionate about story songs. Then after college I did my share of dues paying, but having relationships now with artists and labels now definitely makes things easier," he said.

Since his first video shoot for Rodney Atkins' "Honesty," he's piled up the director credits on nine Carrie Underwood videos, and he's worked with everyone from Blake Shelton and Josh Turner to Reba McEntire and Kellie Pickler.

Simon Cowell (along with his fellow X-Factor judges) is getting his own cologne, and my guess is it’s going to smell like new money, chest hair, and the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody.” Granted, the man has managed to get America to go bananas for Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle, but those products have some commercial viability all their own. A Cowell fragrance? I’m not so sure we’re ready for that jelly on this side of the pond. Not without a careful marketing and advertising campaign anyway.

Which has me thinking: What the heck is Simon going to call this product? Personally, I’d go with “Undershirt.” I mean, why not pair Simon’s signature scent with his signature look? Plus, starting the brand with “Under” recalls the success of Idol’s own Carrie Underwood.

Carrie Underwood gets 'Harmony'

Carrie Underwood is getting recognition, but this time it's not from the Academy of Country Music or the Country Music Association — not yet again anyway.

The country star will be the recipient of the 2009 Harmony Award for the Nashville Symphony's annual Symphony Ball, 2009 chairwomen Mrs. James R. Dickson III (Dara) and Mrs. Samuel Bartow Strang IV (Perian) announced today.

The annual award recognizes "individuals who have demonstrated continued interest and support of music in Nashville … and contributed significantly to the development and appreciation of Nashville's musical culture." Martina McBride received the award at last year's ball. Other past recipients include Amy Grant, LeAnn Rimes, Michael W. Smith, Tony Brown, Mike and Linda Curb, Lyle Lovett, Trisha Yearwood, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Steve Winwood, Vince Gill, Chet Atkins and Rascal Flatts.

Underwood can add the award to her growing list. Aside from being the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, she is on a hot streak with female vocalist prize wins, taking the category three straight years at the CMA and ACM awards. The Grammy winner also is up for two prizes at the Nov. 11 CMA Awards, which she will host for a second year with Brad Paisley. Also between now and the ball, she'll release a new album, Play On,on Nov. 3.

The 2009 Symphony Ball will be Dec. 12 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. This is the 25th anniversary of the invitation-only fundraiser.

Tuesday in Nashville, Carrie Underwood honored Randy Travis for his excellence in the country music industry over the past twenty-four years.

On the red carpet, I had the chance to ask Carrie Underwood about the show and her scheduled performance. When asked about her upcoming performance and if Randy would be joining her,Carrie replied with “Nah! He’s just going to sit back and enjoy...well,you never know! He likes surprising me!" Last year, Randy Travis surprised Carrie Underwood on stage while she was singing and invited her to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Since then, Underwood has stated that every time she sings “I Told You So” she’s always looking behind her to see if Randy’s planning on surprising her again. Tonight,Randy had no chance in surprising Underwood since he was sitting right in front of her throughout her entire performance.

Carrie also mentioned how nice it was to see faces that she didn't have the chance to see every so often. Like Miranda Lambert, Carrie was looking forward to meeting Patty Loveless and having the chance to see some of the biggest icons in the industry.

The entire night was a huge tribute to the greats in country music, names that paved the way for the artists today and the country music industry as a whole. For Underwood, many of these artists were people that she grew up listening to. The idea of performing in front of a room packed with the voices that inspired her to become who she is today musically must have been nerve-wracking, but Carrie handled it as a professional. Not only did she get through the song without a single sign of her nerves showing,but she proved to every single person in the room that when the 22ndAnnual Academy of Country Music Honors comes around twenty years from now, there will be a room packed full of people honoring her and all that she has contributed.

Hundreds inside the Muskogee Civic Center arena cheered when the very first image of Carrie Underwood appeared on the screen at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Concert and Induction, held Thursday night.

They kept cheering as the screen tribute said she was born in Muskogee and told of her journey through Checotah High School, Northeastern State University, Downtown Country, American Idol and one country hit after another.

“Forgive me if I tear up a little bit,” the four-time Grammy winner and reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year said as she accepted an induction trophy from OMHF president Max Boydstun. “There is absolutely no way I can be where I am if I hadn’t have been here first. I love where I come from and I thank you all. Now, if you don’t mind. I’d like to sing a couple of songs.”

That’s when the audience erupted in whoops and whistles. Underwood sang and pranced her way through quite a bit more than a couple of her hits, capping off a full night of country, blues, rock and western swing at the 2009 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Induction and Concert.

MUSKOGEE - Thousands gathered at the Muskogee Civic Center on Thursday night as Oklahoma country music superstar Carrie Underwood, Tulsa Sound legend Rocky Frisco and Western swing songbird Ramona Reed were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

"I look at my life every day, and I'm in awe," the 26-year-old Underwood said during a press conference before the induction. "Everything that's happened has been a gift from God."

When you grow up in a small town, I guess you think your options are more limited for some reason. Carrie Underwood thanks Oklahoma for her musical success

Parker, producer of the induction ceremony since its 1997 inception, also coordinated Downtown Country, an NSU summer music program that included Underwood as a regular performer.

Having followed Underwood since her beginning as a Tahlequah college student, Parker said he has a unique perspective on her evolution, from journalism major to "American Idol" champion to superstar.

"It's kind of similar to when I grew up watching The Beatles," Parker said. "Those performers who evolve ... have a lot longer life in this profession."

Doing more writing

Earlier this year, Underwood became the first country singer to chart 10 consecutive No. 1 hits when "I Told You So" reached the top of the charts. Her upcoming disc, "Play On," will be released Nov. 3, led by the single "Cowboy Casanova."

Underwood said she had an opportunity to write more for "Play On" than she did for her previous discs, "Carnival Ride" and "Some Hearts."

"I feel like I'm a lot more comfortable with myself as a writer," Underwood said.

"That just happens -- the more you do it, the easier it gets, I suppose. So I branched out and wrote with a lot of people that I'd never met before -- people who weren't even necessarily involved in country music."

Among those collaborators was Zac Maloy, former lead singer of Oklahoma City band The Nixons.

"I had to be a fan," Underwood said.

"I said, 'I saw you when I was in high school.' So it was a lot of fun for me to write with him."

Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame concert, ceremony tonight

A few tickets may still be available for the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Concert and Induction Ceremony, which will feature Carrie Underwood.

“We had some held back in case we needed them for sponsors,” said Holly Rosser Miller, president-elect of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. “Our tickets are selling rapidly, but they still could possibly be available at the door.”

Underwood, the reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, will headline the concert, 7 p.m. today at the Muskogee Civic Center. Fellow inductees Ramona Reed and Rocky Frisco also will perform. Reed began her career on the Grand Ole Opry and sang with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Frisco has played piano for and with such luminaries as J.J. Cale and Elvis Presley and is known for the bluesy rock Tulsa Sound.

“You’ll hear a lot of that western swing with Ramona Reed and rocking with that Tulsa sound,” Miller said. “If you come to the concert for Carrie, you’ll leave after the concert and be a Rocky and Ramona fan.”

Miller said Carrie will perform a full concert, featuring her entire band.

“She’s not just doing three songs and leaving,” she said.

Current OMHF President Max Boydstun said tickets had been selling more slowly than expected, though the concert still will make a profit. He attributed part of the slow sales to the economy and part to the concert’s scheduling on the same night as Muskogee Public Schools’ parent teacher conferences.

“We purposely did not advertise early in the show,” Boydstun said. “We’re now getting the word out into other markets.”

At least 50 of those tickets have been sold to members of Sigma Sigma Sigma, Underwood’s sorority at Northeastern State University.

NSU sorority president Jordan Raney said OMHF officials offered a discount to the sorority if members bought a certain number of tickets. She said she wasn’t sure exactly how many tickets Sigma members bought, but she knows they bought at least 50.

“Carrie is always excited when her sorority sisters are there,” the senior from Jay said. “I’ll be out of town during the concert, but I know three-fourths of the chapter is going. Sigma, to Carrie, was always a home away from home. Even when she comes back to NSU, she insists not to be treated like a celebrity.”

Underwood has given back to the sorority by giving money that was used to remodel the house lounge, Raney said.

“Our motto is character, conduct and friendship,” she said. “To receive much, you have to give much.”

Several of the most devoted members of Carrie Underwood's fan club saw their dreams come true Saturday (Sept. 12) during a taping of CMT's concert series, Invitation Only. The American Idol winner made the transition from her usual concert settings -- arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums -- to perform in the cozy environment of a Nashville studio.

Underwood previewed songs from her third album, Play On, set for release on Nov. 3. Prior to the taping, the Oklahoma native talked to CMT's Allison Demarcus about what it feels like to introduce her new music.

"There's a lot of reasons tonight's going to be different," Underwood said of the taping. "We're playing new music for the first time. ... We're doing four songs that we've never done before in front of anybody. We've just done them in our little rehearsal room. That's really exciting. And it's very intimate, you know. There's just like a hundred people there."

Carrie's performance on Invitation Only premieres in December on CMT.

The Man Behind Carrie's Music

Carrie Underwood routinely packs concert halls with her talent for delivering popular songs. Few Cherokee County residents are unaware that Underwood attended Northeastern State University. Many can recall the days when she used to bring them their pizza or sandwich at Sam & Ella’s Chicken Palace.

Mention the name C.H. Parker, and these days, they’re more likely to ask, “Who?”

But Parker, retired from NSU, helped pave the way for Underwood’s career, just as he has produced shows for many other talented performers. He has directed the induction concerts for the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame since its inception in 1997.

Thursday, Underwood and Parker will appear on state together at the Muskogee Civic Center, when she is inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and he receives the Governor’s Award for his influence on the state’s music.

Nearly three decades ago, when Parker agreed to direct the River City Players, and later the show that became Downtown Country, he had no idea he’d someday be hobnobbing with some of the best-known names in music.

The names that roll from Parker’s lips all are memorable, and Hall of Fame worthy: Roy Clark, Vince Gill, Wanda Jackson, Byron Berline, Hank Thompson, Toby Keith. But his involvement with the headliner of this year’s induction ceremony has lasted far longer than one night.

Carrie Underwood first came to his attention in 2000, when he was producing Downtown Country with Kelly Doolen Farmer.

“It was that same year, in the spring, when a friend said, ‘I’ve got a CD I want you to hear. This girl has a beautiful voice,’” Parker said.

He listened to the CD and agreed. “I was amazed at the quality of the singing,” he said.

Hoping to attract the singer to NSU and Downtown Country, he inquired where she went to college, and was told she was a high school student in Checotah.

“I went back to my office as quickly as I could, and called her on the phone,” he said.

Underwood told him she had a band and already had a number of summer performances lined up at county fairs and church organizations. But she agreed to appear as a guest artist in Downtown Country, and joined the cast full time in 2003 and 2004. During the 2003 season, he operated the “follow” spotlight on her when she performed “Independence Day” in the Downtown Country show.

“That first night, when she got to the final chorus, chills just ran up my spine. That’s the Parker barometer for great talent,” he said. “She just has a way that sells a song to an audience. Her audience really empathizes with what she does. She puts her heart into it.”

As her career at NSU continued, Parker could see that Underwood’s talent was growing. Yet she remained a quiet, unassuming person, he said.

“In 2004, she hadn’t completed her degree. She came up to me at the last performance, with her mother, and said she was thinking about ‘American Idol,’” Parker said.

She asked his advice. He told her she could try out for the show, but she should plan to finish her degree, however it turned out.

“I said, ‘You have the talent.’ I also told her if that Simon Cowell starts being harsh like he is with some of the young talent, don’t worry. Just remember, America’s going to be for you,” he said.

But Cowell didn’t attack Underwood, and she won the heart of the audience, just as Parker predicted.

Winning “American Idol,” and going on to a successful recording career, four Grammy awards, two Female Entertainer of the Year awards, and other acclaim has made Underwood much more busy, but Parker considers her the same young woman he’s known for years.

Of course, it’s a little harder to get ahold of Carrie now. He has to go through her management. Once, early in her career, when he inquired about her making an appearance, he was told the fee would be $100,000 for an hour’s performance.

“I told him, ‘A year ago, she was at Downtown Country and we gave her a stipend of about $200 a week.’ He just laughed,” Parker said.

He supported Underwood’s induction as the youngest member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, and it came as no surprise. But another announcement at the ceremony did — his own Governor’s Award.

“They kept it a secret I was going to get this award. When they said my name, I almost fell out of my chair,” he said.

Carrie Underwood sums it up perfectly. “Everybody loves Ellen,” the season 4 winner tells PEOPLE. “I think she’ll make a great addition [to American Idol]“

And Underwood isn’t alone. Fellow season 4 alum Constantine Maroulis says of new judge Degeneres: “I think she’s amazing. She’s really funny, so likable and I think she’ll really be a mentor to the contestants.”

Still, Maroulis admits that he, like many Idol fans, was surprised by the news that the talk show host would be Paula Abdul’s replacement. “I almost didn’t believe it when I first read it,” he says. “We’ll miss Paula.”

Vitaminwater Enlists Fans (and Carrie!) In Creating New Flavor

Vitaminwater is giving its fans a chance to create their own variety of the specialty beverage via the "Flavor Creator Lab" application on Facebook.

Contestants will design all aspects of their creation -- from the flavor and nutritional function to the actual design of the bottle.

Musicians Carrie Underwood (the winner on the fourth season of "American Idol") and 50 Cent will help choose the winner. The two have been fans of Vitaminwater for a long time, says Eric Berniker, senior VP of brand marketing, Coca-Cola Co.'s Glacéau, which makes Vitaminwater.

"Carrie Underwood is going to help judge because she is well aware of America's fascination with voting for their favorites," he says. "50 Cent was the first of our partners to co-create his own Vitaminwater variety -- Formula 50 -- delivering the key nutrients he needed in his life. The two mega stars will help decide the winning label design once the field is narrowed to the top 10."

The winning label designer, announced in December, will receive a $5,000 prize, and the product they design will be available in stores nationwide in March.

Whitestone, N.Y.-based Vitaminwater's Facebook page already has grown by over 11% just in the past week. Since March, when the page launched, it has grown to more than 400,000 fans. "We wanted to give back to our fans and what better way to do that then to give them control of developing what they are passionate about," Berniker tells Marketing Daily.

This is mostly a digital word-of-mouth program, via New York-based 360i, which taps into existing Facebook fans, he says. "But, we will be promoting the Vitaminwater flavor generator campaign through online advertising -- mostly on Facebook where our passionate fans already exist and also on key sites and blogs that tap directly into the creative types," Berniker says. "We also plan to launch a digital video next week with some surprise guests talking about the program and how fans can get involved in creating the next Vitaminwater variety."

After winning Female Vocalist of the Year in 2006, 2007, and 2008, Carrie Underwood is back in 2009 with two nominations for Female Vocalist and Musical Event for "I Told You So," featuring Randy Travis. Travis picked up a second nomination for Song of the Year, for writing "I Told You So." Travis' version of the hit song was nominated for Single and Song of the Year in 1988.

If Underwood wins the Female Vocalist trophy again, it will tie her with Martina McBride (1999, 2002-2004) and Reba McEntire (1984-1987) for most wins in this category.

Underwood statue moves from NYC to DC

WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- The wax figure of country music singer Carrie Underwood will be on loan from Madame Tussauds New York to the franchise's Washington location through January.

The wax museum said the Underwood sculpture went on display in Washington Thursday.

"Underwood was an enthusiastic participant in the creation of her wax figure, spending more than an hour with a team of Madame Tussauds studio artists, who flew out to Carrie on tour for the figure sitting," the museum chain said in a release. "Underwood generously donated a replica of the dress that she wore to the 2006 CMA Awards, when she was first named Female Vocalist of The Year, to Madame Tussauds for her figure to don. The dress was designed by Trish Townsend and constructed by Dez Zamek."
