These 'Stand Up' celebs get set to help

Country star Carrie Underwood says her support of cancer research is "a no-brainer."
Dozens of celebrities are participating in the Stand Up to Cancer special Friday at 8 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT) on ABC, CBS, NBC and E! USA TODAY catches up with some of the stars involved.
Carrie Underwood
Role: The Season 4 American Idol winner will be among artists performing the single Just Stand Up.
Reason: "I was asked to be a part of it. I was amazed that I was asked because the lineup is amazing. 'Heck, yeah, I'll do it,' I said."
Wake-up call: "Everybody has somebody that they know who has had cancer. It was all very positive. Why not do it?"
Other causes: "It has to be something that I believe in. I do a lot of animal charity things.That's a passion of mine. All cancer research is something I'll support. That's a no-brainer."
Importance of star power: "A) It brings light to a certain situation;
People see us doing something out there, and maybe they'll be inspired to do something around them."
