Carrie items up for bid
FRANKLIN - Amy Grant has offered to perform at a benefit Tuesday for Carmen Thompson, who was severely injured a year ago.
Thompson's spine was damaged in an accident while she was helping her husband of barely two years clean up his family's Louisiana property damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
Members of ClearView Baptist Church and other friends have organized to help Carmen and her husband Terry with medical bills. She has no insurance.
Tuesday's benefit will include a silent auction, live music and food. It begins at 5:30 p.m. at The Factory at Franklin. The show starts at 7 p.m. Scheduled to perform besides Grant are Ed Bruce, Marcus Hammon, the Rev. Joseph Rice, C.C. Miller, Michelle Prentice and Carmen's husband, Terry.
Tickets are $75 each or $50 each for two or more tickets. Online ticket sales at terryandcarmen.com will end at 4 p.m. today. Tickets at the door will be $100 each or $75 each for two or more. After 4 p.m. today, tickets are available by calling ClearView at 791-3601 or at the door Tuesday evening.
Silent auction items include paintings, autographed CDs, several trips, 2.3 acres of land in Franklin and breakfasts at Loveless Cafe with such stars as Dierks Bentley and Felix Cavaliere as well as clothing autographed by Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Vince Young among others.
